Find out what lawn environment Tiftuf Bermuda is great for!
TifTuf Bermuda is the go-to grass for a high traffic lawn. TifTuf is traffic-tolerant, drought-tolerant, and recovers quickly from external force damage. When compared to Zoysia or Fescue, TifTuf Bermuda is quite budget-friendly, too! TifTuf needs 6 or more hours of direct sun per day, and will thin out in shaded areas. It is a very fast grower, so it needs to be mowed frequently (every 4-5 days) and kept short (0.5-1.5”) or it will thin out. TifTuf is a sterile hybrid, as are all desirable bermudagrasses, so it is not available in seed form. Sodding is the preferred installation method.

Installations of TifTuf Bermuda
TifTuf Bermuda is an ideal lawn for a sunny yard that gets medium to heavy traffic (dogs, kids, etc.). Although it is very drought tolerant, maintenance is medium to high because it needs frequent mowing. A robotic mower is ideal for bermudagrass! It will go dormant in the winter with a straw color and does shed blades in winter that can be tracked into the house on shoes and pets. Care calendar.
